Am I A Good Person?

Do you try to be a good person?

I do.

When I became a new believer about 6 years ago, I was all about being "good." I didn't cuss or talk back to my parents, I went to church on Sundays and served in the children's ministry. I was a good person; it was a known fact.

But there was something terribly wrong with that.

Sure, I was good and I even tried to share the word of God to people and lead them to Christ, but my relationship with Jesus was stale.

"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast" (Ephesians 2:8-9).

I was trying so hard to be good that I forgot to even sit at the feet of Jesus! The works we do are nothing in comparison to the light of the Most High. The hundreds of things we do can't save us, but the one thing Christ did.
